A woman with black hair and glasses standing against a beige wall, wearing a black lace dress, with her hands clasped in front of her. There is a small white table with a decorative sculpture in the foreground, and a candle holder with two lit candles on another stand nearby. A framed abstract art piece is hanging on the wall.

Artist Statement

I am the product of growing up in a third culture, having immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong at a young age, then to the United States in my formative adult years.

I am trained as a scientist, self-taught as a ceramicist, a mother, privileged. My struggle to find myself within shifting cultural and self-identities has evolved into an opportunity to redefine connectedness and to seek authenticity.

My work centers on discovery and adaptation, embracing movement and spontaneity. Each piece is a quiet reflection of resilience, vulnerability, curiosity, and the art of letting go.
